God still answers prayers
In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, it's easy to wonder if our voices are heard. This story shows that: God still hears even the littlest of prayers. Join me as I recount moments where faith found its answer, reminding us all of a divine presence that listens and responds.
After school on Monday (February 16th 2026), my daughter said to me(while we were discussing the day's event that she wanted a shooting star this week
I asked her why she was so particular
She said that she already had one that she hadn't redeemed, but that she needed 2 shooting stars for what she wanted
Now I was curious, and of course I asked what she wanted
She said that she wanted a Prime drink
Hmmm, I thought
She probably saw the look on my face, she elaborated:
She hadn't had the Prime drink before, but her elder brother had, and he didn't share with her instead brought back the empty bottle (uhhhhhhh)
So she wants one too
And she took it a step further, she was going to share hers with her younger brother and *maybe* her elder brother!
Hmmmm, now I am certainly on board with wanting it for her!!!
I was taken aback still by the change from earlier!
Why? You say
Because earlier in the school year, she would tell me about the people in her class that were getting shooting stars
I always tried to inject excitement into my voice about that
One day I picked up the courage to ask her why she wasn't getting any and her answer was so insightful...
She said that as great as getting a shooting star would be but the more important to her is doing the right thing and she didn't care much if she got a shooting star for it or not!

I was left beaming from ear to ear because those are the values that I believe in and I have worked hard to instill in them and boy, I am grateful to God that they are picking it up
So while talking with ICE, I told him that I really wished that she would get it, seeing how important it was to her. It didn't even occur to me pray about it
On Tuesday while writing her post it note(to be delivered on *post it Wednesday*, I particularly noted that I wanted her to have her shooting star and also every other thing she could ever dream/want in this life
On Thursday after school on their ride back with ICE
she called me and we had the following conversation:
Mama: mom you won't believe what happened
Me: you got your shooting star? (It was that much on my mind)
Mama: yes mommy, and I have the prime here and I will share with my brother
Me: I am so happy for you!
And I was smiling so so so hard
And by the time I came home I met only the empty bottle π₯²
Oh well!
What did I learn?
- God is ever willing to answer us so that our joy may be full
- Be specific in your prayer else how will you even know when it has been answered?
- Parents pray, children enjoy the rewards! Oh well our joy is full in their joy tooπ
Here is our drink
